Open Outlook 2000 and click the Tools Menu and choose the Accounts option.

Click the Mail tab, then click the Add button and choose Mail.

Enter Your Name in the Display Name field. Then click the Next button.

Enter your Midcoast.com email address in the E-mail Address field. This should be your "username@midcoast.com". Then click the Next button.

Choose POP3 as the server type. In the Incoming mail server field type "midcoast.com". In the Outgoing mail server field also type "midcoast.com". Then click the Next button.

In the Account name field type your username. In the Password field type your password. You may checkmark Remember password if you wish. Do NOT check the option for "Log on using Secure Password Authentication". Then click the Next button.

On this screen choose your connection method. If you are using a dialup choose "Connect using a phone line". If you are using a LAN connection such as Wireless or DSL choose "Connect to the internet using a local area network (LAN)". Then click the Next button.

If you chose "connect using a dialup modem" on the previous screen you will get this screen you will get this window. Choose "use an existing dialup connection" option and then choose your midcoast.com connection from the window. Then click the Next button.

Finally click the Finish button. You new email account has been completely setup.
